Feeling Fabulous in Fur!
With the cooler seasons approaching I am more than thrilled to be wearing my fur jackets, vests, and accessories. I anticipated the day when I finally got to wear my rabbit jacket. I was so happy it was finally cold enough outside to wear it. I wish I lived in a climate to where I could wear fur all the time. I just think it is so luxurious but maybe that's the Italian in me? I have obviously been captured by Rachel Zoe's Fall 2011 Collection where there was Furs galore! These three pieces below can all be found where her collections are sold. I found these on Bloomingdales. Oh and Huge sunnies, thigh high boots, and Starbucks is not included in the purchase ;)
yours truly,

The Designer that brought the word, "Fierce" to another level.

As we all know the Fabulous designer, Christian Siriano first got his moment when he was stated as the youngest winner of the Bravo Series, "Project Runway." Heidi Klum and Victoria Beckham soon became Christian's biggest fans. I personally have loved Christian ever since I first started watching Project Runway. He is amazing at what he does and he also from the vibe I get seems to be very down to earth. Even though he was discovered on Project Runway Christian has definitely proved himself to be a designer that belongs showing in New York Fashion Week. All of Christian's designs are so elegant however they have that edgy flair. These shoes were some of my favorites that are part of his new Spring '12 Line. You can purchase these shoes at his personal website: Christian Siriano's Personal Website Enjoy Dolls!

Fashion Intern Style File 1

Every single week I will dedicate one post to my experiences or tips of the trade about Fashion Interning and all of my little hints that I have learned over the years to be the BEST Fashion Intern you can be! Please take a look below for my first post about the subject, ENJOY!

Ever wonder what it's like backstage at a Fashion Show? Well let me tell you, IT'S FASHIONABLY CHAOTIC! Everyone is running around, models throwing clothes everywhere, racks of clothes galore, people yelling at you, etc. I absolutely love the chaos. I love the feeling of having to make sure that your model is dressed to perfection with all of her accessories and shoes on point. Once a model arrives at the show if we have time we usually do a quick fitting, look at the model's shoes that she brought, and make sure that we have everything un-buttoned, un-zipped, un-tied etc which makes it easier for you to take off and put on the model. Once that is done the model usually goes to hair and makeup. I love being around everyone and seeing that they absolutely love their job. Once your model is finished with hair and makeup you usually put them into their first look. For Fashion Shows I ALWAYS bring a styling kit. In my kit I keep the following:
  • Sharpies (Thin and Thick)
  • Rubber Bands
  • Pens
  • T-Pins and Safety Pins
  • Tissues
  • Flashlight (You never know when backstage is going to be dark)
  • Clamps (To clamp any garment to fit the model the best way)
  • Tagging Gun (To hide tags or move tags)
  • Panty Hose (When models put on clothes and get deodorant stains; it gets it right out)
  • Scissors
  • Towel (To allow the model to change on something that is clean; you never know your surroundings)
  • Clean nude thong (just in case model was not prepared)
  • Clean Black and Brown mens dress socks (just in case model was not prepared)
  • Makeup Remover Wipes
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • BUSINESS CARDS, BUSINESS CARDS, BUSINESS CARDS!!!
All of the items that I bring in my styling kit can be the most random, however you may NEVER know what random item you need. Whenever you have something that someone needs they will most likely remember you as the girl that saved the day! Another reason why you should have your business cards is for you to network with people after the show so that you can stay in contact with those people because you never know who you will run into next. I always love running into people that I met at another event or show, it's sort of a special connection that you get with people because you all are there for one thing, Fashion! Most importantly Fashion has created me and given me the confidence that I have today. I am so blessed to have accomplished what I have. Look out world, Dakotah Hale is going to take the Fashion World by storm. Now off to go do some work for my boutique, Glitterati! Check out our Facebook: Glitterati Facebook
